The Archivi.ng Roundtable: What Would You Do With Five Million Old Newspaper Pages?
This question might be tough to answer when you think of old newspapers as relics of the past, best left to historians and archivists. For the guests of The Archivi.ng Roundtable, five million pages are a treasure waiting to be rediscovered, reinterpreted, and reintroduced to the world through their work.
If I had five million pages… I would build one model that completely understands where we are [as a people] and why we’re where we are and can help chart a course to get out of where we are. And not so much AGI [Artificial General Intelligence] as per the movies but AGI as a helper that brings the trends to the fore.
- Olumide Okubadejo (AI Research Expert)
With uses ranging from the practical to the visionary, the possibilities for leveraging these five million pages are inexhaustible. The archives could become the foundation for books, documentaries, and art exhibits that help us make sense of our history.
