Rita Lori never stayed in one lane

At 24, Rita Lori was already making her mark at the Nigerian Television Service (NTS), steadily carving out a space in a male-dominated industry. As a programme producer, she led popular shows like Feminine Fancies, Take a Trip, Students’ Stadium, and My Guest.
Her philosophy was clear: women had to back their words with action. While many accepted limited roles, Lori challenged outdated norms, pushing for greater inclusion and responsibility. Beyond her official duties, she dedicated her spare time to developing fresh ideas that elevated television programming.
At the height of her media career, Lori became a prominent hotelier and entrepreneur, using her success to champion the rights of the Itsekiri people. As the Igba of Warri Kingdom, she advocates for justice, education, and economic opportunities for her community.
