Introducing, The Archivi.ng Memberships
Every day, we lose a little more of Nigeria's memory. Old newspapers vanish, public records fade, and fragments of our collective story drift into this black hole of memory.
Archivi.ng exists to stop this.
We're building the most comprehensive digital archive of Nigerian history, and we need your support to keep it alive.
From old Nigerian newspapers and magazines, Archivi.ng preserves stories and historical records in danger of fading from collective memory. Every contribution from members of our community keeps the archive open, the records safe, and the history accessible for future generations.
That's why we're introducing Archivi.ng Memberships, a way for you and everyone who believes in this work to help sustain it through regular support.

In the past two years, we have:
- Digitised over 200,000 pages across more than 40 publications. The oldest page accessible is from May 1966.
- Launched The Archivi.ng Fellowship, completed its first cohort.
- Launched The Archivist, a quarterly publication making sense of Nigerian history.
Now, we're preparing to scale the work in ways we've never attempted before. The More Things Change, an exploration of Nigeria's cycles of change through its recorded history, is the perfect initiative for that next level.
The next two years are extremely ambitious for us; we're going to:
- Digitise 2 million pages.
- Complete two more fellowship cohorts.
- Publish eight more issues of The Archivist.
- Build a network of 1,000 researchers.
- Complete 10,000 hours of Oral History.
This is the scale of what we want to build, but it'll only be possible with your support.
Here's what you'll get:
- Every month, we'll send you a detailed Membership update, telling you what we're making progress on, what's working, what's not, and what you can be a part of.
- First dibs on the tools we're building and improving.
- First dibs on all events and activities.
- The opportunity to help us shape Memberships to become the strongest force for Archivi.ng
If you've ever read one of our stories, searched our database, or simply felt that Nigerian history deserves better care, this is your chance to ensure the work endures.
