In 1979, Justina Eze was one of only three women elected to the House of Representatives, alongside Veronica Ogechi Nnaji from Imo and Abiola Babatope from Lagos, representing Uzo Uwani in the Second Republic. Before politics, she was a successful businesswoman who traded in salt and essential commodities, reinvesting her earnings in coral beads, gold, and diamonds.

Her diplomatic expertise led to an appointment as Nigeria’s ambassador to Cape Verde in 1999. She later served as the Presidential Liaison Officer to the House of Representatives under President Olusegun Obasanjo, strengthening executive-legislative relations.
