Joe Nez was a voice that moved across genres—Afro-Highlife, Reggae, Calypso, Funk, Soul, Folk, World, and even Country. He was as much a storyteller as a singer, weaving vivid tales into his lyrics, often closing with a burst of hearty laughter that left a lasting impression.
Leading the Joe Nez and His Top Six band, he crafted songs that touched many hearts, including Landlady, Business Trip, Onye Ma Echi, Nsọmma Nne M, and Ofe Owerre. His compositions like Agam Ebuli Aha Gị Elu and albums such as Baby You, Ọdila Nma, and Nke Echi Ka showcase his broad musical reach. His posthumous collection, The Memories of Joe Nez, preserves the spirit of a remarkable artiste.
