The Hykkers Created Music for a Restless Generation

The Hykkers came alive in 1963, when a group of Lagos-based students and white-collar dreamers united through their shared passion for music. Patt Finn, Eddit Duke, Emmanuel Lawson, Jeff Afam, and Bob Miga made up the original line-up. Drawing from the pulse of American and British Rock and Roll, Blues and Soul, they shaped something unmistakably their own, threaded with the rhythm of Nigeria.
Their self-titled debut in 1965 and Stone the Flower in 1968 carried the energy of a restless generation, eager to bend notes and break moulds. On stages across the country, The Hykkers were a signal of possibility, a call to plug in, turn up and play loud.
